National 4 Music has three main sections:

• Performing: Perform an 8-minute programme on two instruments, both at National 4 level.
• Composing: Provide evidence of a basic understanding of the compositional methods used by others. Use level specific compositional methods and music concepts to create your own music and reflect, with some support, on your creative decisions.
• Understanding Music: Provide evidence of your ability to listen to and identify simple level-specific music concepts in music excerpts.

National 4 is assesed internally.
