S1/2 Music
In S1/2 music, pupils will get the chance to play many instruments and building on performance technique across various classroom instruments such as:
- Keyboard
- Tuned Percussion
- Ukulele
- Acoustic Guitar
- Voice
- Drum-kit
They will get the chance to build on literacy skills by learning musical notation, learn about a variety of musical styles and genres as well as composing original pieces of music, and will get an introduction to music technology.
S3 Music
In S3 music, pupils will build confidence and independance skills by focusing on two instruments throughout the course of the year. They will build on their literacy skills by learning about different National 3/4 literacy concepts and developing compostion skills.
There are four main literacy units in S3, these are:
- Unit 1: Instruments of the Orchestra and how they are played
- Unit 2: Scottish Music
- Unit 3: Pop and Vocal Music
- Unit 4: Musicals
