Falkirk High School was awarded the Rights Respecting School Gold Award in August 2024. The Gold Award is granted to schools that have evidenced Children’s Rights to be embedded across the school and that they underpin every facet of school life. The UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) helps schools to use the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) to enhance daily school life and give young people the best chance to lead happy, healthy lives and to be responsible, active citizens.

At Falkirk High School, pupils' rights are pertinent to us and that is why our pupils and teachers continue to work in unison to ensure the rights of our young people are recognised, carried out and valued. While also working to recognise and understand issues that children face on a global level. We have a pupil led steering group of Rights Ambassadors that meet weekly to discuss how to improve understanding and awareness of rights in the school community. 

We update our Bluesky and Instagram pages regularly with activity around the school, and use these to raise awareness of specific articles of the UNCRC at different points in the year.
